Improving Effluent Systems

The project will convene a high-level, invitation-only think tank of technical specialists and industry leaders from across Australia to address emerging dairy effluent issues. It will gather and analyse firsthand insights from experts working directly with farmers to guide practical solutions and best practices, identify and prioritize key R,D&E activities to improve effluent system management, and update the National Effluent and Manure Database along with related training and resources to build service provider capability. This initiative responds to growing industry concerns about effluent non-compliance and environmental impacts, while unlocking opportunities for farmers to utilise effluent as a valuable resource rather than waste—an area with limited commercial funding.
