Implementation of single-step genomic selection in eucalypts
Application of single-step genomic selection has the potential to double the rate of genetic gain in tree improvement programs for hardwood eucalypts by substantially reducing the generation interval and increasing the accuracy of breeding value prediction. This project will enable the technology and test its application on an industrial scale in the Tasmanian blue gum (Eucalyptus globulus) and Tasmanian plantation oak (E. nitens).
