Identifying revenue opportunities from changing consumer expectations, Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) and social license to operate
Achieving environmental, sustainable, and governance (ESG) outcomes is becoming more and more important for consumers, so much so that they are either willing to pay more for products that achieve these outcomes, or not buy products at all that don't meet a level of minimum expectations.
This project will identify those areas where a minimum level of expectations need to be met to ensure consumers will purchase products. That is, what is required for social license. It will also identify areas where higher prices can be achieved from reaching certain ESG outcomes, and the predicted magnitude of these higher prices. This value can then be compared against the costs of reaching these ESG outcomes, in addition to translating them to consumers, to ascertain the net benefits to industry.
Recommendations will be provided to industry at the individual business level and sector-wide R&D level on how industry can practically achieve social license and increased value from reaching higher ESG outcomes.
