How Australian Cattle and Lamb Markets Responds to Climatic and Weather Shocks
Australian cattle and lamb production faces an evolving global market demand for high-value meat despite
unprecedented climatic shocks to the domestic production system. This economic research report examines the price
discovery of Australian cattle and lamb prices and their responses to weather and climatic shocks. The results of this
research further aim to provide support for informing policymakers of the reasons for changes in cattle and lamb supply
and, thus, meat prices.
