Hen ranging behaviour in relation to light and ultraviolet intensity

The aim of this project is to provide knowledge on how range use may be impacted by weather parameters related to sun exposure. The objectives of this project are to: test hen behavioural preferences for different UV and light intensity levels in a controlled indoor environment; test hen range use in an experimental free-range facility using different shade cloth filters; and validate hen ranging on commercial farms in relation to UV and light.
