Global use phase survey for apparel CLSD

This study involved a ‘global’ survey to generate data on the serviceable life of wool apparel and other fibre types during the use phase. The survey was conducted in five key clothing consumer markets: China, USA, UK, Germany and Japan to collect objective data on clothing care regimes as well as the reasons for garment disposal and trends in apparel use over time. The three peer-reviewed publications arising from the study are informing methodology development for the environmental footprinting of clothing.
