Feasibility of Collagen peptide-based wound healing applications

Collagen-based wound dressings have limitations in healing speed, biocompatibility, and sustainability. While they offer moisture retention and protection, they don't fully address inflammation or tissue regeneration. This project aims to improve collagen dressings by integrating enzymatically derived peptides from enriched Type III collagen to enhance tissue regeneration and reduce inflammation. The dressings, crafted from Type I collagen and enriched peptides, will be tested in simulated wound environments and 3D human skin models with cut trauma to assess their effectiveness. A feasibility analysis will also evaluate manufacturing costs for scalability.
