FAN AgTech Farm Trail

The project aimed to support producers in increasing their awareness and adoption of technology solutions in their businesses. It was delivered in three phases and included several key components such as understanding locally relevant pain points, identifying technologies to address these pain points, sharing insights about available technologies, and connecting with relevant agtech providers and other associations.

The project successfully organised five events that attracted a total of 177 participants. These events included the Farm Tech Planning workshop, with it providing attendees valuable insights into developing a farm tech plan and was well-received by participants.

Demo Days were additionally hosted in Moreton Bay and Noosa, which were highly successful in introducing solution providers to local producer groups. These events facilitated valuable conversations on the importance of agtech and the challenges and drivers of its uptake. The Demo Days received positive feedback, with 80-85% of participants rating the events highly for acquiring new knowledge on agtech uptake.

Key observations gathered during the program highlighted several barriers to agtech adoption, including time, resources, confidence, and education. Conversely, trust in local networks, the desire to employ more agtech solutions, and opportunities to make agriculture appealing to younger generations were identified as drivers of agtech uptake.

Overall, the project successfully increased awareness and adoption of agtech solutions among producers, provided valuable learning opportunities, and fostered collaboration within the agtech community.
