Extension for improved efficiency and sustainability in the rice industry

This extension project provides for improved efficiency and sustainability in the Australian rice industry through the effective dissemination of Research and Development (R&D) information. The project will coordinate on ground extension providers and research and development activities ensuring R&D information is presented in a way that is readily understood and is practically implemented on farm for improved productivity and sustainability. It also includes a number of new initiatives to improve the adoption of best management practice information that incorporates natural resource management. These include utilising all forms of modern delivery methods, exploring new partnerships, and developing the current partnerships with industry bodies for effective across industry extension. The project funds a number of extension positions.
