Evaluation of Apple Vision Pro to the Australian meat processing sector (Stage 1 - Fit for purpose)
Timely data is vital for decision making inside a meat processing facility.
Information such as where yield is currently being lost, where dangerous equipment is located, tick rate of the plant, breakdowns, current boning, cutting and trimming specs, etc. are all conveyed currently either by paper (which means that it is not live and not always forefront of mind) or on large TV screens that are not always in plain site when the data is required and far from dynamic.
JBS Australia is fortunate enough to require all staff (production and management) to wear either safety glasses and or personal prescription glasses. This makes any JBS plant an ideal candidate for the evaluation and adoption of the Apple Vision Pro glasses.
This first stage will buy multiple pairs of glasses and evaluate them for fit for purpose, from an environmental perspective in the areas of maintenance, cold stores, harvest, fabrication and value adding (5 pairs in total). The first questions will be do they last in the meat processing environment (heat and humidity changes) and can relevant data, which for this phase will be a combination of push and live data, be displayed in a way that is meaningful and not interfere with daily tasks.
Stage 2 will concentrate on developing fit for purpose content to live push data to end users and what format and media configuration is this required in, included required internet bandwidth.
