Evaluate efficacy of novel chemistries, biocontrol agents and management practices to control Alternaria and Black Root Rot disease in cotton

This project represents an ongoing effort to evaluate the efficacy of novel chemistries and biocontrol agents against black root rot (BRR) and Alternaria leaf spot (ALS) pathogens. The research aims to find suitable/alternative solutions for the industry to include in disease management strategies. As part of this process, it will continue characterisation of the poorly known pathogens associated with ALS and BRR and provide insights into pathogen biology for developing effective control strategies. The project will also screen common commercially available agricultural detergents, as potential replacements for FarmCleanse, a widely used product that is no longer commercially available.
