Driving adoption of disbudding best practice

This project aims to ensure farmers and service providers have access to resources and training to support best-practice “DIY” disbudding, promote compliance with Australian dairy industry policy requiring pain relief, and explore alternatives to cautery/hot iron methods such as caustic paste (not currently registered in Australia). By improving knowledge and capability, the project seeks to substantially increase the number of farms implementing humane and compliant disbudding practices.
