Development and evaluation of a training program for electrical stunning

While there are several plants that routinely use electrical stunning for cattle, others are reluctant to use it because there is no training program available. The interest in electrical stunning for cattle is increasing with growing concerns that percussive stunning does not meet Halal requirements. A training package will support processors in using electrical stunning. While electrical stunning is routinely used for small stock, there is no training program available. There is value in developing electrical stunning training packages for both cattle and smallstock.
