Develop a Biosecurity Manual for the Ratite Program

To help the ratite (emu and ostrich) industry to reduce and manage biosecurity risks, there is a need for a practical tool for producers so they can incorporate risk minimisation practices into their farm management. The development of a biosecurity manual will meet this requirement. A biosecurity manual contains all the measures that are used to reduce the risks of diseases, pests and weeds entering or spreading on a property.  

Incorporating industry and other stakeholder engagement in the development of this biosecurity manual, it will enable a higher likelihood of industry uptake which in turn will contribute to greater industry sustainability through improving on-farm biosecurity.
