Delivering livestock processing transparency back to producers

This project will leverage the recently mandated smallstock RFID program initiated by the Victorian State Government. The project will implement Livestock scanning at all receipting points at Wodonga Abattoir - 4 unloading ramps and hand wands. The scanning will record RFID NLIS tags and transfer from the “In Transit” PIC to the “Receipted onsite” PIC for Wodonga Abattoir. This will provide a time/date stamp in the NLIS database of the receipt of each animal (Cattle, Sheep and Goats). The ERP status will be electronically checked on the NLIS database and animals/mobs quarantined as required. The project will develop a web portal to provide booking, receipting and kill data information back to livestock suppliers. Livestock suppliers will be able to electronically book stock in and using an eNVD. Each carcass will have a photo taken at the grading station and other photos can be taken to show carcass issues which will be provided with all kill data including fault information.
