This project will migrate and validate the F1 hybrid breeding scheme into short-term ryegrass. The key outcomes of the project include transfer of F1 Hybrid breeding technology into new species. initiation of an additional 10 parental pools to significantly expand the possible F1 experimental varieties that could be taken to market, parental pools for F1 Hybrid production generated from a range of current and future cultivars selected with commercial partners.
