DairyBio Animal - At the cutting edge: world leading breeding values and genomic services for the Australian dairy industry.

This project supports the implementation of key innovations, maintaining and improving existing services and reduces cost and increases access to major components of genetic evaluation (such as cow genotyping). Key outcomes include: delivery to market of new traits such as genomic calving ease, gestation length, and improvements to existing breeding values such as conformation traits and feed saved, genomic prediction of production and cell count in red breeds using a multi-breed genomic reference population, the use of intermediate phenotypes, such as mid -infrared (MIR) to improve the genomic prediction accuracy of fertility, exploring inbreeding trends in Ginfo and national herd since the introduction of genomic selection.
