Dairy Capability Framework

Large suppliers have long requested a capability framework, aligning with the Australian Dairy Plan’s commitment to clarify and promote career pathways across the industry through a framework identifying required skills and competencies. This initiative also supports improved retention rates, as highlighted in the 2024 external review of Dairy Australia’s workforce attraction and retention project, and addresses DA business goal #5 to generate wide endorsement and successful implementation of a new farming capability framework. With the Dairy Capability Guide now complete, resources are needed to disseminate its content and convert the framework into a practical, adaptable process for farmers to implement within their businesses, supporting skill development and career pathways across technical and soft skills.
