Composting workshops

Composting presents challenges for farmers due to high operational costs and difficulties achieving consistent, high-quality results. This project aims to address these barriers through practical face-to-face workshops and instructional videos that equip farmers with proven composting methodologies and waste optimisation techniques whilst ensuring understanding of state regulatory requirements and biosecurity protocols. Throughout the project a simplified ‘carbon:nitrogen’ ratio calculator will be developed that helps farmers identify optimal feedstock combinations, streamlining the composting process and supporting production of higher-quality compost products.
