Build a national framework for dairy farming climate change adaptation that connects existing research and resources to sub-regional and business needs, incorporating: A detailed understanding of expected sub-regional climate change impacts to 2040, (e.g., local district rainfall and variability, not global or national) and match predicted changes in key parameters to their impacts on “typical” and emerging dairy farm systems in each region. Evidence-based options for farm system change (e.g. feedbase, infrastructure), which support resilience to climate change, specific to location and farm system type.
