Bioharvesting Phase 2

This phase of Bioharvesting aims to refine and validate a safe treatment that weakens wool fibres so fleeces can be removed gently and efficiently without the need for shears. This project is an extension to ON-00832 Next Generation Wool Harvesting which has made significant progress towards making bioharvesting a commercial reality. By combining advanced wool follicle culture screening with rigorous in-animal trials, the team is accelerating the discovery of a viable, commercial solution. At the conclusion of this two-year phase, it is anticipated that at least one successful agent that reliably weakens wool without adverse effects on the animal will be identified.
