Best practice manual for growing, harvesting and storing Industrial Hemp (Cannabis sativa) in Australia

The Australian Hemp Council (AHC) is a formal association of Australia's IH growers and crop consultants including personnel from state departments of primary industry. The AHC together with CSIRO and state departments (SARDI, DPIRD, DPI and DITT) have formed a consortium to collate and review scientific and industry information on IH production in Australia and to write a BMP Manual on growing and harvesting the crop and managing its post-harvest quality and yield. The Manual will be aimed at all growers of industrial hemp but particularly at commercial broadacre farmers wanting to consider IH as an alternate cash or rotation crop. The consortium will also provide the Australian industrial hemp industry with a Gap Analysis detailing where there is information missing for growers. The broad and expert membership of the consortium provides ready access to the Australian industry's current collective knowledge and provides for its ready extension to the wider agricultural sector.
