Using the red meat processing industry as a case study, the report will identify key barriers and benefits to attracting and retaining neurodiverse people in red meat processing businesses. The supplier will undertake research on behalf of DAFF and provide findings and recommendations to DAFF on the changes that should be undertaken at organisational and industry-level to improve workplace culture, and actions for DAFF to support adoption of these changes. These recommendations may inform future DAFF actions DAFF to address the industry’s critical workforce shortages and may inform future work undertaken to expand the lessons of this research more broadly across agriculture.
