Assessment of BlueTrace eID hardware and systems incorporated into a smallstock processing plant

Electronic identification (eID) systems are due to become mandatory in Western Australian sheep processing plants from 1st July 2025. WAMMCO has been in discussions with BlueTrace, an innovative eID RFID systems supplier servicing the saleyard and food industry. BlueTrace’s systems are yet to be independently investigated and this project will determine accuracy of eID scanning, the number of required panels, throughput capabilities, optimum yard design among other outcomes. This project will concurrently investigate the accuracy of BlueTrace’s artificial intelligence (AI) StockCount solution and software and the integration of these counts, eID sheep ear tags scans and eNVD information into WAMMCO’s Production system. BlueTrace's eID traceability systems have been installed in several processing plants across Australia. However, they are yet to delve into the further stage ideas listed above.
