Projects
Assess new technologies and techniques that could improve the cost-effectiveness and robustness of recreational fishing surveys
Knowledge of the size and impact of recreational fishing currently represents the most significant gap in the assessment of community-shared fisheries.
To tackle this problem the current project will use a workshop approach to:
- Identify options to improve the precision and cost-effectiveness of recreational fishing surveys;
- Identify strategies that positively engage the recreational sector in fisheries science and management; and
- Assess whether emerging surveillance technology can be feasibly integrated into future surveys.
