AI Camera test and validate - Carton Lid Inspection

There is a significant cost to industry associated with the need to rework box and lidding and at times lost product when cartons end up in the wrong area of the cold store. This project will evaluate the ability for an off the shelf AI camera to provide real time feedback and decision making in a cold store infeed and outfeed system (a network of 15 conveyors) to ascertain if a carton has a lid or does not have a lid. To date this decision has been left to barcode readers to determine from a label which direction a lidded or unlidded box should traverse through the network, however this is unreliable due to a number of reasons outlined further in this application.
