Advanced Trim Measurement and Blending Automation

The Midfield Group have a mission of a zero harm (environment, animal and human), sustainable profitable business, catering for a vast array of suppliers and customers. This mission and future vision throughput will require innovations in the area of livestock receivals through to carton outload. This project will leverage the uncompleted project by Food Processing Equipment Pty. Ltd (FPE), and lessons learnt from that project, that was commenced at Thomas Foods Murray Bridge plant however was never fully completed due to a factory fire, and evolve a state of the art beef trim measurement and blending automation system. This is project 1 of 2, with project 2 of 2 being conducted with Teys in parallel to this Midfield project. The undertaking of the two projects together will enable both Midfield and Teys to share the initial innovation costs as well as co-developing a solution that suite two different beef trim businesses and hence product a solution with a wider offering to the remainder of the industry.
