A detect-alert-deter system for enhanced AI biosecurity and risk assessment
To improve meat chicken farm biosecurity, awareness and a better understanding is required of the Avian Influenza (AI) transmission pathways that wild birds initiate and create on poultry farms. This involves identifying the species, behaviours and conditions that create potential pathways. In line with current Chicken Meat Program research priorities, this proposal focuses on gaining a better understanding of this and aims to improve AI related biosecurity and risk assessment modelling by demonstrating the utility of detection and deterrence systems on meat chicken farms.
