2024 Benchmarking project, with improvement workshops for plant resource & emissions intensity, development of efficiency culture, and guidance on member sustainability reporting compliance

This is a flagship sector environmental project that supports participants in the 2024 EPR. It consists of four stages: • 1st stage - literature review to develop evidence-based case studies for plant best practice / high performers, including the latest best practice emissions, energy and water improvement opportunities • 2nd stage - update the benchmarking tool to include outcomes of the literature review and address changes proposed in 2023 • 3rd stage - participant emissions, energy and water benchmarking tool and review, with plant recommendations and performance improvement workshops • 4th stage - recruitment of top 6 plant performers for an ASRS Readiness Assessment and assessment & development of a top-down efficiency culture process using Energetics 1 to 5 proprietary tool). The third stage provides a 1:1 workshop with written list of key projects and actions that AMPC members can take to improve emissions, energy, and water management. The fourth stage will identify top performing sites and most engaged members for invitation to receive a resource management system review using the Energetics proprietary tool known as 1 to 5. This review will assess the level of development of business management systems such as policy, people and implementation practices and identify management areas for systemic improvement. Especially those areas which might prevent further improvement in emissions, energy and water management.
