Development of a user-friendly Management Strategy Evaluation framework for Queensland’s rocky reef fishery

This project was designed to develop a modelling tool to evaluate the management strategy for Queensland's Rocky Reef Fin Fish Fishery, where the two main fished species, snapper and pearl perch, are overfished. The Rocky Reef is a multi-species fishery worked by commercial, charter and recreational line fishers, that spans the border between Queensland and New South Wales. Fisheries Queensland has formed the Rocky Reef Working Group to provide advice on management options that would rebuild these and other rocky reef fishery stocks to meet long-term sustainability targets. The MSE modelling framework is quick, user-friendly and adaptable for more fish species as needed (e.g. teraglin and grass emperor, or other fisheries).
