VIA BioFuels has developed an innovative biological process to produce 3-methylanisole (3-MA), which can serve as a drop-in replacement for gasoline, a component in sustainable aviation fuel, or a precursor for producing plastics.

VIA produces 3-MA from agricultural feedstocks using a proprietary, genetically modified industrial strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
