Poket
Poket is a customizable field data collection and surveying software for the agriculture sector. Ag businesses, NGOs, and researchers use Poket to deploy mobile-based surveys through a smartphone app placed directly in the hands of farmers, growers, or field agents. These users self-report and crowdsource critical field data in exchange for custom rewards and incentives. Poket enables both individual and community-based data collection—supported by real-time feedback loops, dashboards, maps, and resources—even in offline settings.
Use-cases include:
- Monitoring large-scale crop, livestock, or horticulture production
- Supporting farmer-led trials of new technologies or practices (e.g. climate-smart, regen ag)
- Enabling traceability, market insights, and supply chain visibility
- Capturing economic, environmental, and behavioral indicators at scale
- Real-time pest and disease surveillance for early warning and biosecurity
- Climate impact feedback (e.g. drought, floods, extreme weather)
- Input tracking for sustainability certifications (e.g. fertilizer, feed, crop protection)
- Monitoring adoption of agronomic and animal welfare practices
- ESG and carbon footprint reporting
- Community-sourced alerts for biosecurity, land degradation, or fire risk
Poket is based in Toronto, Canada, and is supported by MIT through its SOLVE Initiative and the University of Toronto.
