Next Instruments manufactures analysers for the agriculture and food industries. Their technologies include Near Infrared Analysis, Image Analysis and Enzymatic Digestion Analysis which we have developed in house or licensed from CSIRO or universities.

Their major technology is a system to measure Protein, Oil, Moisture and Starch in grains and oilseeds as they are harvested in the field. By combining Protein and Yield collected off the combine, an unique data layer, i.e., Protein/Yield Correlation Quadrant maps, can be generated.

These maps provide a means of identifying where the addition of Nitrogen fertilizer will produce a positive Yield response in the next crop. This unique approach to Variable Rate Fertilization application is only available to farmers who can measure Protein and Yield of the combine in real-time.

Next Instruments is in a unique position to help farmers close the Yield Gap that exists in Australia and the rest of the world. It is estimated that their technology has the potential to increase Yield by 66 million tonne of grain per year through optimisation of Nitrogen applications.
