GREATER MSP/MBOLD

MBOLD® is working to accelerate solutions to the most pressing challenges facing the food and agriculture sectors today, particularly climate change and the growing demand for food. MBOLD mobilizes Minnesota's globally leading concentration of food and agriculture leadership to develop practical solutions to global challenges facing the food and agriculture sectors. Our members include major companies operating across the food and agriculture supply chain as well as researchers, nonprofits and other partners helping drive the future of food. Minnesota has long been a global leader in producing proteins like dairy, poultry, swine and the grains used to feed them. We also have a growing sector of businesses, researchers and other innovators that are cutting new trail with plant and alternative proteins. MBOLD is working with an array of partners to make Minnesota a leading hub of innovation to make proteins more environmentally sustainable. We are:

  • Working with MBOLD members and other partners to scale up and commercialize new technologies and products in the protein sustainability space related to both traditional proteins like meat and dairy, and plant and alternative proteins.
  • Identifying opportunities to partner with stakeholders in Europe, Canada and other countries around the world that are also committed to driving protein sustainability.
  • Supporting greater connectivity and collaboration among interested businesses, research institutions and other organizations in our regional protein ecosystem.
  • Mentoring smaller businesses that are breaking new trail in protein innovation, whether they are based here in Minnesota or coming from overseas and looking to make Minnesota their homebase for expanding into the U.S. market.

MBOLD is an initiative of GREATER MSP. GREATER MSP is a partnership of more than 4500 individuals from more than 300 leading businesses, universities, cities, counties, and philanthropic organizations working together to accelerate the competitiveness and inclusive growth of our 15-county regional economy.
