NSW Climate and Energy Action: Net Zero Manufacturing Initiative
Opportunity for
To accelerate the research, development and commercialisation of emerging clean technologies. For technical and commercial viability studies of a project or product to make informed decisions before progressing with technology trials.
For businesses preparing to commercially manufacture low carbon products in NSW. This stream funds specific development activities that enable a financial investment decision to establish a manufacturing facility.
To expand and increase our local manufacturing capacity of components for renewable energy.
Opportunity description
We are committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050. To do this, we must:
- develop new low emission technologies
- build local manufacturing capacity of critical low carbon products
- stimulate local manufacturing of renewable energy generation, storage and transmission components.
That’s why we’re backing the next wave of innovators and manufacturers that will fast-track emissions reduction, create new jobs and drive economic growth across NSW.
The Net Zero Manufacturing Initiative supports NSW businesses and industries to remain leaders in the net zero transition by increasing their competitiveness, attracting investment and opening new growth opportunities.
Together, we can make NSW a net zero technology and manufacturing superpower.
Applications are now open for:
- Clean technology innovation grant
- Low carbon product manufacturing grant
- Renewable manufacturing grant.
Current opportunity
The initiative involves 3 grant streams, 2 of which could apply to the agriculture sector. Building materials and inputs needed for agricultural production (e.g. Biofertilisers) are eligible avenues. The grants are being administered by NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
