Dairy Australia: Enteric methane reduction research co-funding EOI
Opportunity for
- Partners to co-invest in research around methane reduction using Artificial Intelligence (AI). This project aims to identify and develop methane inhibitors using AI that can be effectively incorporated into pasture-based solutions.
Opportunity description
Industry challenge
Economically viable and safe reduction of greenhouse gas emissions intensity that is supported by farmers, stakeholders and consumers is essential for ongoing market access and the long-term viability of Australian dairy farming. Enteric methane is the largest emissions source with very limited solutions currently available for pasture-dominated systems.
Current opportunity
Dairy Australia has identified an opportunity to collaborate with two United States based universities along with US government-based agencies to identify and develop methane inhibitors using AI that can be effectively incorporated into pasture-based solutions.
We are seeking co-investors to help fund this piece of research in the order of $300K. The length of this project would be 1.5 years.
