  • Entrepreneurial researchers from any publicly funded Australian research organisation interested in the tools and support to transform their innovations into successful, research-driven companies. ON Accelerator is a free, three-month acceleration program.

Industry challenge

The ON Innovation Program is funded by the Federal Government and delivered by CSIRO to support publicly funded researchers with the skills, network and knowledge to understand the potential of their research and translate their great idea into real-world impact as a startup.

Current opportunity

The application deadline for CSIRO’s ON Accelerate program has been extended until August 25. ON Accelerate is a free three-month acceleration program designed for entrepreneurial researchers who are ready to turn their innovations into thriving, research-driven companies. Delivered as a structured program, ON Acceelrate gives researchers access to a network of experts and investors to test and validate their idea as a commercial venture and gain experience to help raise funds and build a company.

  • Incentive: Teams can receive grant payments of up to $180,000 based on their performance to accelerate market traction during and after the program
  • IP ownership: Retained by team/ sponsoring institute

Through personalised coaching and group work, ON Accelerate will:

  • Equip, empower and energise teams to tackle the commercialisation journey.
  • Support the whole team to develop entrepreneurial skills including networking, pitching and investor engagement.
  • Assist teams with identifying their customer and the specific problem that they are solving.
  • Build and validate investment ready, innovative, sustainable and scalable business models.
  • Introduce teams to venture funding opportunities, helping them develop a network of experts, investors and supporters and preparing them to succeed.

Throughout the program, you will be connected to a network of experts and coaches who will support (and challenge) you.
