Opportunity description
Industry challenge
Innovate to Grow is a free 8-week program delivered by CSIRO to support small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to better understand how R&D can help progress new ideas, technologies and business opportunities. The program provides structured support to help participants refine their idea, identify technical and business challenges, and develop a clearer pathway for future R&D collaboration, funding and growth.
Current opportunity
This iteration of Innovate to Grow focuses on agrifood and agtech businesses based and operating in Western Australia. The program is open to SMEs working across a broad range of sub-sectors, including agritech and AI, livestock and agriculture, food and beverage manufacturing, packaging and transport, value-add products, waste optimisation, recycling, energy reduction and circular economy solutions.
Over 8 weeks, eligible WA-based SMEs will receive support to explore how innovation and research can help grow their business. Participants will be guided to refine their idea into a viable research project, build an R&D project plan, develop a roadmap and funding strategy, and identify key priorities and next steps.
The program includes virtual onboarding, preparatory materials, a 3.5-hour program workshop, fortnightly virtual webinars, guest speakers from CSIRO and industry, networking with other SMEs, and support from an R&D coach. Participants will also be invited to an in-person meeting in the Perth CBD during the final week of the program.
