Wild Dog - On Ground Activities
The initiative has enabled new community groups to form and focus attention in areas where wild dogs have become an emerging problem as well as provide on-going support for known wild dog problems areas through the mainland states of Australia. On ground activities carried out by wild dog groups have included baiting and aerial baiting, purchase of tracks and meat baits, training, field days and trapping. Utilising community participation, the control initiative has achieved significant reductions in sheep losses.
