Victorian Vertebrate Pest Management Coordinators
This project consolidates and expands the significant achievements and outcomes of earlier Victorian Wild Dog Coordinators Projects. The project will deliver coordinated training and support to farmers to better protect sheep from the impact of wild dogs, foxes, pigs and other vertebrate pests using best practice control methods. The Victorian Vertebrate Pest Management Coordinators will maintain producer groups that will undertake vertebrate pest control across all land tenures and facilitate the development of multi-species management plans that ensure timing and methods of control used by all collaborating stakeholders are optimized. This will be achieved through an increased extension and training program delivered to producers to build capacity in the management of relevant vertebrate pest species and related livestock management practices whilst maintaining a focus on wild dog control.
