Updating Shipping Route Data for the Heat Stress Risk Assessment (HSRA) Model
The current heat stress risk assessment (HSRA) model used when transporting livestock in ships relies on historical weather data for routes to port, but climatic conditions may vary at different times of the year. This project will deliver an updated data set of climatic conditions and variability on sailing routes to 63 ports, including the risk of heat stress and cold stress for some routes, that will be fed into the HSRA model as it undergoes an upgrade.
