The Thoroughbred Welfare Initiative

The Thoroughbred Welfare Aftercare Working Group (TAWWG) are experts who can review the current welfare landscape in the Australian thoroughbred industry, and will conduct this project to produce a report making practical policy recommendations that will enable the industry to improve welfare outcomes for thoroughbred horses leaving the racing and breeding industries.

Recommendations will be presented in a report that details the significant research and consultation that underpins the panel's findings. The aim is to have these recommendations adopted by Governments as well as by the relevant regulatory bodies in racing and breeding.
