Surging in shredders

This project investigated the issue of surging in cane shredders. Using a scale model of the shredder in Tableland Mill, the optimal billet size, feeder roll geometry, teeth spacing and shredder grid settings were identified. This data was used to propose guidelines that will minimise surging in the Tableland Mill shredder.
