Smarter Irrigation 2: Evaporation mitigating solution for Australian cotton water storages

This project will develop and demonstrate cost-effective and practical solutions to reduce evaporation from water storages on Australian cotton farms. Although there are currently alternative means of reducing evaporation, such as shade cloths and floating systems, these often have significant capital costs. This project builds on previous large-scale field trials and subsequent laboratory trials to develop an unique solution to mitigate wind impacts on monolayer films, reducing water evaporation and lowering costs.
