Semi-Autonomous Scoping Study
Automated shearing technology has been of widespread interest to wool growers since the 1990s when technological feasibility was first demonstrated. Despite its potential, autonomous or semi-autonomous shearing has not been translated into a commercially viable product.
This investment will utilise experimental analysis and industry consultation to develop a principled understanding of the technical challenges pertinent to the development of semi-autonomous robotic shearing systems. The outcomes will provide guidance to the strategic investment decision of the wool industry.
