Regulatory requirements and risk assessment framework for use of automated vehicles in feedlots
The use of autonomous or driverless vehicles in feedlots is a new and emerging field. This project will engage the Australian Road Research Board (ARRB) to develop an appropriate risk assessment framework for the incorporation of these technologies into the operation of feedlots.
The Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) Bunk Bot, an autonomous robot that manoeuvres a Bunk Scanner around a feedlot and provides estimates of remaining feed more accurately than humans, will be used as a test case for the project.
