Protein Foods for Sustainable Diets
This project builds on previous research on dietary strategies required to shift the Australian diet within planetary boundaries for freshwater, cropland and climate change. This project proposes to confirm the benefits of maintaining red meat consumption at current levels in a healthy diet by contributing to micronutrient adequacy and consumption of vegetables in the Australian diet and conversely, manage trade-offs associated with substituting higher climate change impact protein sources with lower climate change choices.
