PhD: Monitoring soil water dynamics for improving water use efficiency

To sustain cotton farming under long-term low rainfall conditions, the industry’s water-use efficiency (WUE) must continuously improve.

This PhD project is exploring whether new tools and sensing systems can better estimate the overall 'size of the bucket' within a field to inform decisions about best practice for irrigation on Australian cotton farms, including taking into account irrigation infrastructure characteristics.
