National Wool Residue Study CLSD
This project addressed a critical priority to undertake studies addressing threats to wool’s environmental credential and strengthen wool’s reputation for environmental stewardship. AWI has been assessing residual pesticides levels in Australian greasy wool since the early 1990s to monitor the industry's impacts and also have the data to challenge claims that the industry significantly contributes to eco-toxicity and human-toxicity.
The study led to a publication demonstrating wool's improved performance in residual chemicals remaining in greasy wool over time.
