Measures for low GHG wool
AWI's cradle-to-grave Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) identified the contribution of methane emissions from sheep to global warming as a key environmental impact. This project will assess and identify the technical feasibility, cost-benefits, key opportunities, risks and barriers to achieving lower emission wool at the farming stage. It will identify plausible mitigation strategies for Australian woolgrowers, capitalising on previous research and assessing potential adoption rates, including assessing the economic impact on woolgrowers of implementing the mitigations options.
